Why this issue matters: The time is now to consider how we move from place to place in our community. Environmental, economic and health concerns prompt us to think upstream about how our communities are (literally) built. Healthy transportation choices are a strategy to increase physical activity for health improvements, reduce transportation costs and health care costs, reduce our impact on the environment, and even support the economy with “transit-oriented development”.
